Officer involved shooting shuts down I-75

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- An officer involved shooting stopped traffic flow on I-75 on this holiday weekend.

The incident was confirmed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The TBI further confirmed it was investigating the shooting.

“At the request of 8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler, TBI agents are investigating an officer-involved shooting along I-75 in Campbell County. We will provide additional information once agents have time to gather preliminary information,” said Leslie Earhart, TBI spokesperson.

While traffic was stopped for a better part of the afternoon, one lane was eventually opened, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Drivers can still expect delays.
