Adaleen H. Ross of Jacksboro, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 98. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was known for her enduring strength and selfless dedication to her family. Adaleen was born in Kentucky on February 9, 1927, to the late Oscar and Kate Harber. Preceded in death by her husband, Fritz E. Ross, sons Stanley Fritz Ross and Scott Radford Ross, and siblings Robert Harber, Mabel Giles, Frieda Anderson, Oakley Shirley, Windell Harber, Warren Harber, and Willie Sumner.

Survived by her brother Ben Harber; Grandchildren: Tiffany & Matthew Morgan, Myles & Elena Ross, Crystal Siercks, Katina & Joseph Smothers, Casey & Anita Ross, Douglas & Stephanie Ross, Alison & Philip Cook, Daniel & Amber Ross; Great Grandchildren: Devin Ross, Taylor & John Souza, Olivia Smothers, Ambreea Verhulst, Skyler Ross, Alexander Powell, Charlotte Morgan and Dylan Ross; one great-great granddaughter Lyla Domar with two more, Vivian & Isla Souza, on the way any day now; numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend Pearlie Morrell.

Ada was living with her sister Willie at The Trinity Community in Ohio, where they received top notch care from both the facility and Willie’s family. After Willie’s passing in March, her two sons, Hugh Allen Sumner and Earnest Warren Sumner, and their wives, Indy and Nancy Sumner, continued to visit with and care for their Aunt Ada with unwavering devotion, and all were by her side as she peacefully went to be with Jesus.

The family will receive friends at 1PM Thursday, May 29th at Cross-Smith Funeral Home in LaFollette, Tn. with the funeral service to begin at 2 PM, followed by interment at Powell Valley Cemetery & Memorial Gardens in LaFollette.

A Celebration of Life with food and fellowship will be held from 4 – 6:30pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in LaFollette for all who wish to join.
