The Region Strong award from Cumberland Gap Regional Tourist Association

Missy Tackett was honored on Tuesday night at The Olde Church at Cumberland Gap.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- Missy Tackett, the Executive Director of the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, was nominated and awarded the prestigious Region Strong award from the Cumberland Gap Regional Tourist Association (CGRTA).

Region Strong awards are presented to individuals or organizations that are recognized for outstanding work making their community and county a better place to visit, work, live and play. “It is through the accomplishments of our Region Strong winners that move us closer to achieving our mission of making our Region a vacation’ destination,” CGRTA Board President Carl Nichols said.

Campbell County is proud to have back-to-back Region Strong award recipients; Manuel Mesa in 2025 and Missy Tackett in 2026.

“I’m extremely honored. I believe I have the best job ever as I get to promote all things Campbell County. This award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to collective efforts of everyone who has supported initiatives aimed at supporting tourism in our beautiful county including recreational activities and businesses in Campbell County. I appreciate so much being nominated and chosen for this prestigious award, and I look forward to attending the Annual Awards Banquet on May 19 to celebrate with the fellow Region Strong Award recipients from other counties!,” said Tackett.

Tackett received her award at the 9th annual awards banquet on Tue., May 19, at The Olde Church at Cumberland Gap.
