Friday was National Manufacturing Day as County Mayor Jack Lynch and staff toured local facilities

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch made a tour of local manufacturers on Thursday, Friday and Monday, in recognition of Friday’s National Manufacturing Day. “We visited the eight largest manufacturers across Campbell County. Combined, they employ more than a thousand folks,” said Mayor Lynch.

Lynch and his staff, Randy Brown, Keisha Howard and Kayla Kidwell, made the tour except for the final stop on Monday. Yesterday, Lynch and Brown visited Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries (SEKRI).

“We visit our manufacturers once a year or more often if they have a need where the county can help,” said Deputy Mayor Randy Brown.

“We want you here. We want you to grow here and be successful,” said Lynch.

National Manufacturing Day was Friday, October 4th. The week of October 21-25 is National Manufacturing Week.

On Monday is when a stop was made at SEKRI Industries at Jellico. At DeRoyal, Randy Brown, Kayla Kidwell, Keisha Howard and Jack Lynch are welcomed by Josh Garvey and Jamie Delph. DeRoyal has 158 employees.

Mark Riffle, blue shirt, next to Jack Lynch, and his team of 75 employees welcomed Lynch and his staff as part of National Manufacturing Day on Friday.

The manufacturing employers were presented with a folder that contained a flyer of the job fair that will be on Tue., Oct. 22, at Woodson’s Mall. All hope to attend and set up a booth looking to add employees to their companies.

The State Representatives, Economic and Community Development Team, high school students and job seekers from the public will be present seeking job opportunities at the job fair.

Also in the folder was information regarding tax credits, federal bonding, PILOT program, and employment training services provided by the Campbell County American Job Center.

Mayor Lynch presented each manufacturing employer with a certificate of appreciation.
