Fields of Faith 2023

By Charlotte Underwood

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County’s 14th annual Fields of Faith is set for Wednesday at 6:30 pm on the Campbell County High School Football Field. The event is open to families and “geared towards high school and middle school aged students,” according to organizer CCHS Assistant Baseball Coach Brian Miracle.

There will be fellowship, student testimonies, music and more.

ESPN’s Jimmy Dykes is the featured speaker

“The big thing for us is just bringing our community together and worshipping under one name -which is Jesus- for one night. This is one of the biggest events we do around here and it’s cool to see our community come together and worship and not worry about who we are, where we’re from, what church we represent, what school we represent, who’s family we’re part of, just the fact that we all come together for one night is the whole purpose and to give the students the opportunity to grow in their faith and make an impact on them,” Miracle said.

This year’s speakers for the event are “ESPN College Basketball Analyst Jimmy Dykes and his daughter Kennedy Dykes, who is a cheerleader at the University of Tennessee.”

“He does a lot of the SEC games and a lot of the Kentucky and Tennessee games, and he will be here speaking with us, as will his daughter, who is a cheerleader at UT. We’re also doing a disaster relief drop off for the flooding victims this year,” Miracle said.

According to organizers, Fields of Faith is a “student led community event in partnership with Campbell County Youth Leader Alliance.  Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ.  A football field provides a neutral, rally point where our community can come together and worship!”

“It’s an honor to do what we do and play the small impact that we have; we’re excited for this year’s event and we’re glad to be able to do the hurricane relief drive; like Tennessee, be a true volunteer,” Miracle said.
