The school had four teams to compete at county level: 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams. All four of our teams won first place at the county level.

“Our teams showed up at regionals, and everyone did an amazing job and represented Campbell County well. They competed against the best teams in the eastern region.  Our 7th grade team consisting of team captain Addison Duncan, Cailin Kimberlin, Parker Thomas, and Peyton Thomas actually won 2nd place at regionals. These four students set a goal to make it to the top four and they achieved that!” said Danielle Duncan, the parent of one of the Clover Bowl team captains Addison Duncan.

The team prepared “relentlessly, studying on any free time they had, they stayed after school 30 minutes a day and studied with Peyton Bolton, who happily agreed to help them.”

According to Duncan, White Oak has always participated in the 4-H events and normally has several teams from White Oak win at Clover Bowl (county level) every year and go on to compete in regionals.

Addison Duncan, (7th grade), also likes to stay competitive with the annual 4H poster contest. You can submit two posters; one that you draw and a digital poster. Addison has won at county level since she was in the 4th grade. In 6th grade, she won at the state level on both posters and the poster she drew was put on the 4-H camp shirts.

She was also asked in her 7th grade to design the clover bowl shirts for all of the county teams competing for Campbell. This year she won 1st place at in the Poster contest at county level on both of her posters and her digital design was put on the camp shirts once again.

Way to go White Oak!
