JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- What began as a theft call for Caryville Assistant Chief of Police Raymond Surber turned into a be on the lookout (BOLO) call for all law enforcement. Jacksboro Assistant Chief of Police Joe Hopson was the first officer to come across the blue Jeep Grand Cherokee announced in the BOLO.
While on patrol along Highway 25W, Hopson noticed the vehicle and the matching license plate from the BOLO. Hopson initiated the traffic stop at the car wash on Mount Perkins Lane close to Walmart.
The suspect, 46 -year- old Bobbie J. Randolph, Hemlock St., La Follette, was driving the Jeep and gave police consent to search the vehicle. In his report, Hopson said while speaking with Randolph, he noticed what was likely a strong odor of marijuana coming from her.
During the search of the Jeep, Surber and Hopson allegedly located several items that had just been stolen from a Caryville business. Elsewhere, a wallet with 14 unopened packets of Suboxone from three different manufactures and not in a prescription bag, based on the arrest report.
Sgt. Corey Laxton with the Campbell Sheriff’s office also responded to the scene. Randolph allegedly handed over a bag of green leafy substance believed to be marijuana to Laxton.
Randolph was charged with theft, possession of schedule III and simple possession of schedule VI. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/01/2026-6AM)
