The Board of Education approves its tenure list for 2024-2025

By Charlotte Underwood
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Board of Education members unanimously approved the 2024-2025 Tenure Recommendations at Thursday’s meeting. Many teachers and their families were present for the momentous occasion.

Requirements for tenure in the state of Tennessee are that an educator must hold a bachelor’s degree, have completed five years in Campbell County Schools and an educator has a level of overall effectiveness (LOE) of 4 or higher for the past two years. This information has been verified in TNCompass by the principal and supervisor. Teachers also have to perform at “expectation or above expectation for two consecutive years in the last two years of your five-year teaching period.

“We also recognize and grant tenure to teachers who are transferring from one school system out of county to our school system. If we get a great teacher that is tenured out of another county, we want to retain those teachers, and we are happy to have them,” Director Fields said.

Director Fields and other board members congratulated all those receiving tenure.

“We all get to recognize students. That’s what we live to get to do in this position, but when you get to recognize a teacher, that’s one of the greatest honors there is,” Director Fields said, adding that all “these teachers are significantly above expectation.”

A total of 23 teachers are on the tenure list for this year, including Kindera Graham, Brittany Vaughn, Bethany Hendrickson, Christopher Enix, Mallory Vinsant, Nathaniel Davis, Jami Sampieri, Jodi Davenport, Kimberly Hatmaker, Aleshia Madron, Carrie Orick, Heather Parks, Ashley Jones, Patricia St. John, Autumn Goddard, Erik Hill, Carla Stanley, Erica Simpson, Kristy Hoskins, Will Vanetten, Vickie Mayfield, Hannah Nance, Ashley Deel.
