LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- LaFollette Utility Board General Manager Regina Kennedy and LUB board members commended utility workers for their performance in the July storms incident, which left over half the county without power.

“Our crews did an outstanding job; we had a lot of our water employees come in and were helping on the restoration of power, they would go out with crews to help get the power back on,” Kennedy said.

She reported that the utility had approximately 10 poles down during the storms, which was “quite a lot of damage.”

Power poles were replaced near the Ball Farm Event Center.

“The storm took out over 13,000 customers; we have 23,000 customers, so it took out over half of our customers at one point,” Kennedy said.

“Our crews did great, they need to be commended for it, that was a long week for them,” said LUB Chair John Snodderly. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/27/2024-6AM)
