Nearly 400 ballots cast
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The votes cast in the Jacksboro election were nearly double that of the last mayoral race in 2021. Unofficially, 392 total votes were cast in the April 2025 election compared to 220 some four years ago.
Shayne Green earned another term as mayor of Jacksboro on Saturday with 157 votes. This marks Green’s second time to serve as mayor.
Green was challenged by Verlin Hatfield and Matthew Housley. The incumbent mayor nipped Housley by 17 votes. Housley finished with 140 votes while Hatfield tallied 95.
Incumbent and unopposed Aldermen Roy Green and Jimmy Snodgrass had complimentary votes of 208 and 210 respectively.

The election will be certified on April 17, according to Mallory Rosenfeld, Administrator of Elections for Campbell County. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/07/2025-6AM)
