It was Campbell’s first, and only, so far, team to play in the state tournament

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WLAF)- The Lady Cougars of 1990-91 had big expectations entering the season and delivered with a state tournament appearance. Aside from that, this team also defeated Oak Ridge four times on its way to a 27 & 5 mark.

Interestingly enough, WLAF video taped the sub-state game between Science Hill and Campbell at Johnson City to go along with its radio broadcast. Where that original video copy wound up, no one knows. However, thanks to Jerry and Margetta Cox’s trusty VCR machine, the game was recorded off the cable TV playback. All these years later, Ryan and Jill Cox Browning converted the recorded video tape version over to a DVD. WLAF’s Matthew Moore put the finishing touches on it by uploading to WLAF’s YouTube Channel.
