Campbell turns the page to focus on Friday’s home region game

KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The Lady Cougars, for the second straight season, tussled with the Lady Wildcats of Oak Ridge for the district 3-AAAA tournament title. 

It was a physical, scrappy, basketball game, typical for a Campbell County-Oak Ridge contest.

Campbell, 21 & 8, stuck around with Oak Ridge, and at one point with four minutes to go in the game, cut the lead to six. However, the Lady Wildcats made a run and ended up winning their tenth straight district title by a final score of 64-49.

Tops in scoring for the Lady Cougars was Bella Lester, the Mills Door and More Player of the Game, with 13 points. Carley Kitts and Jayden Kitts totaled 10 points apiece. Preslee Chapman and Lacey Pemberton scored six points each. Saylor Hutcheson rounded out the scorebook with four points.

Up next for Campbell County is a win-or-go home matchup. The Lady Cougars host the Hardin Valley Hawks in round one of the Region 2 Tournament on Brown Court.
