A pick-up truck rammed into a parked big rig, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- A La Follette man continues recovering this morning from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle wreck on Tuesday.
Multiple agencies responded to a two vehicle wreck on I-75 late Tuesday morning at 11:52. As a result of the wreck, a La Follette man was transported to a Knoxville hospital, according to one official, and the north bound lanes of the interstate were closed for the better part of 90-minutes.

This Freightliner was parked on the shoulder of I-75 when it was struck by a pick-up truck, according to the THP.
An 18-wheeler was parked on the right shoulder when a 2008 Ford F-150 pick-up truck struck the big rig from behind near mile marker 133, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. That’s on the hill approaching the Vasper bridge. Luke Breidenbach, 24, of La Follette, was behind the wheel of the pick-up, and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, based on the police report.
The parked rig, a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer, was driven by 61-year old Randall Reinink of Greer, South Carolina. Both Breidenbach and Reinink were wearing seat belts.
The THP report details that the Ford was traveling north on I-75 near the 133 mile marker in lane two, the right lane. The Freightliner was parked on the right shoulder of the roadway on Interstate 75 closed to the 133 mile marker. The pick-up truck failed to maintain its lane of travel and struck the 18-wheeler in the rear. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/10/2024-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF MARK NAGI OF TDOT)
