Mr. Kenneth Starrett, Sr., age 83 of LaFollette passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church, retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation after 47 years of service, and was a member of the Campbell County Cancer Association. Kenneth was an avid University of Tennessee sports fan, loved playing golf, and was a former youth sports coach. He was a very loving person, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Kenneth was a singer and served as choir director, Sunday School teacher, and superintendent at several area churches. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Naomi Starrett, brother, A.J. Starrett and wife, Janice, and sisters, Pauline Goins and husband, Bill, Bobbie Mattie and husband, Gene, and Hazel Boles and husband, Henry, and a brother and sister who passed at a young age.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Queener Starrett; son, Kenny Starrett and wife, Susie; daughter, Cynthia Woods and husband, Tim; step-daughter, Cindi Douglas and husband, Adrien; step-son, Matthew Myers and husband, Fabio; grandchildren, Clark Woods and wife, Kayla, Lindsay Woods, Beau Woods and wife, Cheyenne, Kayla Hensley, Seth Starrett and wife, Cheyenne, and Sean Starrett; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; special niece, Debra Chitwood and husband, Curt; long-time special friends, Joe and Eve Guy, Bob and Rod Ward, Don Baird, and numerous TDOT co-workers; and several other nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Tennova Health and Rehab, Amedisys Hospice, and Fresenius Kidney Care for their wonderful care they gave to Kenneth.
A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, 3:00 PM at Jacksboro Cemetery. Although flowers are beautiful, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to a cause that was very dear to Kenneth’s heart, the Campbell County Cancer Association, PO Box 122, Jacksboro, TN 37757.
