The bright good morning voice heard over WLAF since 2005 signs off the air today for good

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Big Josh Etter has provided 20 memorable years of great radio on WLAF. When he arrived, WLAF was searching to find its identity after a devastating turn of events. WLAF knew it needed something, and that something was Big Josh.
Along the way, Josh has dramatically increased listenership, friendships and sponsorships for the station. Countless listeners and callers have had better days thanks to a pat on the back or encouraging word or a listening ear from Big Josh.

In 2019, WLAF gained national fame, because it boasted the Big Josh morning show. He was named the 2019 Singing News “Golden Mic” award winning broadcaster.
We would be remiss if we didn’t make special mention of Josh’s wife Sandy. Sandy has been the driving force behind Josh’s success not only at WLAF, but throughout his many endeavors. Here’s a hats off to Sandy as well as their grown children, Josh and Penny Etter.

The bright good morning voice, Campbell County radio’s longest tenured morning man and announcer, Big Josh Etter, is calling it a career today.
Friday, June 27, 2025, has been declared Big Josh Etter Day in Campbell County by Mayor Jack Lynch.
Josh, we wish you many more “alrights”, and we’ll leave an extra mic out for you when you come by for a visit. There may even be a Little Debbie treat and bottle of water close by. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/27/202-6AM)
