Wynn uniforms were created in less than a week

HABERSHAM, TN (WLAF)- Jellico Coach Mike Reynolds calls it a staff effort with the idea of having a special day of games and recognition for the long ago great Wynn High Basketball teams and players.

“The idea just came to mind in the last couple of weeks, but we’d been thinking about it for a while,” said Reynolds.

Organizers just found the right time, according to the veteran coach. The Jellico Blue Devils will suit up in Wynn uniforms and play Cosby on Wynn’s court Saturday. The Junior Varsity game starts at 3pm followed by the Lady Blue Devils game at 4:30pm, and after that, there’ll be a special recognition of past Wynn championship teams and players. The Jellico (Wynn) game with Cosby’s Eagles caps off the evening.

“Danny Sheckles, Principal of Wynn School, Wayne Kitts-former Wynn head coach and player, Susan and Don England along with Gary Marlow deserve a lot of credit for helping to make it happen,” said Coach Reynolds.

Byrge Screen Printing created the throwback white and red Wynn uniforms. “Byrge did a fantastic job as usual. We ordered them last Thursday, and they were completed Wednesday evening,” said Reynolds. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/24/2025-6AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF LYNN RAY)
