The call came in at 3:41pm of the house fire on Hickman Lane

This home at 194 Hickman Lane in the Pinecrest Community is deemed a total loss.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- There were some tense moments Wednesday afternoon when a home in the Pinecrest community caught fire, and it was feared that someone might still be inside the burning structure. “It was well involved when we arrived after getting the call at 3:41pm. At first, the homeowners thought there could be someone inside, but we were able to determine that that wasn’t the case,” said Captain Daniel Lawson with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service.

The home sat on a hill near Norris Lake on Hickman Lane, a narrow gravel road. “It was a tight ride down the lane with our big fire trucks, but we made it work,” said Lawson.

Firefighters with CCRFS and the Jacksboro Fire Department contained the fire to the structure. However, there was heat damage to nearby older, non-working vehicles and a camper. Some smaller propane takes were close by but kept safe.

“The homeowners were on the scene and safe, and all of their pets made it out safely, too. We had a good supply of water on our tanker trucks and were able to access more water at a hydrant near Indian Creek Baptist Church,” said Lawson.

There were no injuries, and units cleared the scene at 6pm. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/22/2024-6AM)
