LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Miranda Kelley (above) with the Emory Valley Center guest spoke at Tuesday’ Rotary Club Luncheon held at the LaFollette Methodist Church.
Kelley serves as the Workforce Innovation Director at Emory Valley Center, where she has dedicated the past nine years to supporting people with disabilities in reaching their goals and living lives filled with opportunity and purpose.
Throughout her time at Emory Valley Center, Miranda has served in many roles, including as a Direct Support Professional. Her passion for disability services, however, began long before her career at EVC. She entered the disability field right out of high school. After spending a short period serving aging adults, she felt called back to disability services, a field that has always remained close to her heart.
In her current role, Miranda oversees Employment and Community Day Services, Medicaid Alternative Pathways to Independence (MAPs), Vocational Rehabilitation, and Enabling Technology. At the center of her work is a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. People should not be defined or limited by a disability; instead, they should be provided with the resources, training, support, and opportunities they need to pursue their goals and live out their dreams.
Joining Miranda speaking on Tuesday was Dianna Wooldridge, MAPs Manager, whom Miranda describes as the heart and soul of the MAPs program. Dianna’s dedication, hard work, and servant’s heart have played an instrumental role in making the program what it is today. Her focus is always on the people she serves, helping each person succeed, grow, and take that next step toward greater independence.
