Edgar Lee (E.L.) Benge, Jr., age 86, of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was a member of West LaFollette Baptist Church. He was a partner in Braun, Benge and Sullivan Incorporated and retired lead carpenter and U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed gardening, being outside, rocking on his front porch, family gatherings and good food. He loved talking to people and sharing stories. Preceded in death by Parents: Ed and Ronilda Lester Benge, Brother: Tom Benge.

Daughters: Tara Wilson and husband Eric, Ronilda Quakenbush and husband Jim, Cathy Quakenbush and husband Jeff

Son: Dean Shaw

Grandchildren: Alyssa and Brock Bear, Samuel Wilson, Ashley and Donavan Seay, Courtney and Stephen Thomas, Whitney and Carl Shaw, Tyler and Samantha Quakenbush, Morgan and Jake Terrell, Shelby and Brandon Schultz

A host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, Rev. Kenny Allen Officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM Wednesday July 9th at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for 11 AM Interment with Military Honors given by the Honor Guard of Campbell County.
