JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- On Friday, John Brown Gym is where another athletic signing took place. Campbell High Cougar baseball player Dylan Ford put pen-to-paper, signing with Milligan University of Johnson City.

Ford played all four years on the baseball diamond at Brown-Archer Field and had worked through much adversity, such as three coaches in four years.

Cougar Baseball Coach Adam Ellison had nothing but high praise for Dylan. “He’s a yes sir, no sir guy,” said Ellison. “You never have to worry about him giving less than his best ’cause he will always give you all he’s got.”

Campbell Co-Athletic Director Ryan Browning, center, shares thoughts about the career and future of Dylan Ford, left, as Cougar Head Baseball Coach Adam Ellison looks on.

To further back up his hard work ethic, the fact that Ford had not played baseball since little league further amplifies his achievement. Many hours upon hours were put in on the baseball field since Ford decided to pick up the bat and glove again, and obviously it paid dividends.

One day, Coach Ellison gave Ford a flyer for a Milligan baseball camp. A few weeks later, an assistant with Milligan called Dylan and gave him an official academic and athletic scholarship offer, of which Ford accepted.

A day to remember for Dylan Ford and his family.

One of the main selling points for Dylan Ford’s decision to attend Milligan was the small, Christian school atmosphere. He said that it felt like a family, and that was a main reason for his choosing to be a Buffalo.

When asked about what it meant to Coach Ellison about Ford being his first college signee as head baseball coach, Ellison mentioned that “this is big for the program. It’s not about me…but it is a big achievement for Cougar baseball as a whole.”

“Dylan’s a yes sir, no sir guy,” said Campbell Head Baseball Coach Adam Ellison.
