JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Commissioners approved a budget amendment on Monday evening in order for the county to accept an $87,830 Solid Waste Equipment Grant from the State Department of Environment and Conservation. The grant has a term from February 1, 2025, through January 31, 2030, with a 10-percent local match requirement.

The grant provides for the purchase of a forklift, six 40-yard containers, and one 20-yard container.

Other budget amendments approved included several relating to the Campbell County school board, as well as an amendment for the highway department to replace the software and hardware for the fuel system at the highway department.

A budget amendment recommended by the recreation committee to appropriate funds for a building and signage at the county park was also approved. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-05/20/2025-6AM)
