JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- With the courthouse forced to close early last Friday, the county clerk’s office drive-up window at Jacksboro had a record day. “We had a hundred folks come through the drive-up. It was a big day, and our staff really came through,” said County Clerk Todd Nance.

The courthouse closed on Aug. 30 due to a problem with water pipes at the jail. Though the courthouse was closed, the county clerk’s staff finished the day. “Mary was here until 4:30 at our main office, and the phone was ringing off the wall. She had the task of answering questions about the clerk’s office services as well as explaining why the courthouse was closed. Katy helped about 80 customers at the drive-up window, and I handled 20,” said Nance.

Todd Nance reminds you that the main office at the courthouse at Jacksboro has a late hours day, Tuesdays open until 6:30pm.

There’s already a drive-thru window at the La Follette annex on East Central Avenue at stop light 10, plus the new one at Jacksboro. A drive-thru window at the Jellico office is in the works, according to Nance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/05/2024-6AM)
