JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Cougars held their first practice in pads on Monday morning on Reynolds Field, and Head Coach Taylor Ownbey called it a good day of practice.

“It was good. We had a good day. I thought the guys did well,” said the second year head coach. He added that there are some things the Cougars need to work on for Friday (6pm scrimmage at Seymour).
“But the guys came and practiced hard, and I was pretty excited about that. We just need to continue to work at it the rest of this week and get ready for Friday,” said Coach O.


This week’s schedule goes like this: Monday-Thursday (July 27th-30th) 7am-9:45am. On Friday, July 31, the Cougars will scrimmage the Eagles at Seymour in a 6pm start.
Saturday, August 1, is Picture Day on The Hill at 9am.
Afternoon practices begin on Monday, August 3, 3:15pm-4:45pm. For Tuesday-Thursday, August 4-6, practice times are 2pm to 4:45pm.
On Friday, August 7, the Cougars venture Barbourville for a 6pm scrimmage with the Knox Central Panthers.
The first full day of classes is Monday, August 10, and practice time will run from 1:45-4:30pm.
August 14, at 6pm, at Burke-Tarr Stadium is when and where the Cougars will have their dress rehearsal jamboree game hosted by Carson-Newman.
