Cougars defeat Dragons; Lady Cougars fight, but fall  

Campbell visited the Clinton Dragons for tennis matches on Wednesday

CLINTON, TN (WLAF)- Coach Rusty Fields Campbell High Tennis Team headed to Jaycee Park at Clinton on Wednesday for a match with the Dragons.

It was a very successful day for the boys’ doubles squad as they defeated Clinton 9-0.

The duos for the Cougars were Gavin Cox and Will Croley, Johann Vanhalle and Malachi Miesel, and Hunter Dotson and Jack Stooksbury.

As for the solo boys squad, Vanhalle, Cox, Croley, Miesel, Dotson, and Cordell Jones all won their matches.

For the girls team, it was a tough, but hard- fought day. The doubles team fell to Clinton 2-9, with the teams consisting of Addie Terry and Callie Byrd, Reagan Davis and Preslee Chapman, and Dannie Hammack and Jade Higdon.

On the singles side, Addie Terry and Callie Byrd had close losses of 6-8 and 7-9. Preslee Chapman won her match 8-4. Jade Higdon and Lexi Stewardson both tied with scores of 8 all. Unfortunately, Campbell lost the tiebreakers. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/10/2025-6AM)
