Mrs. Brenda L. (Kidwell) Powell, age 74 of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. Brenda’s greatest joy in life was being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren, and always looking forward to holiday get-togethers. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James T. “Jim” Powell, Jr., parents, Oscar Lee and Pearl Ann (Brandenburg) Kidwell, brothers, Thomas Kidwell and Jack Kidwell, and sister, Lola Ridenour.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Powell; son, James Powell, III, and wife Treena; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Kidwell, Troy Kidwell and wife, Bonnie, and Atlas Pyles; sister, Lois Wilson and husband (Ronnie); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Funeral Services beginning at 3:00 PM with Rev. Wade Walls officiating. Interment will follow at Peabody Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Brenda L. (Kidwell) Powell.
