School Board member Brandon Johnson said he thought it would be hard for those working to make it to 5:30 meetings if they were going to be held at schools in the fifth district.
School Board Chair Jeffrey Miller said his plan was to have one more board meeting at a school this year and the rest would be held at the courthouse.
The change to the meeting time was unanimously approved.
Also unanimously approved on Tuesday evening was to name the renovated CCHS Field House the “Jimmy Pierce Field House.”
“It’s well deserved,” said Chairman Miller.
Six Budget amendments were also approved.
Miller spoke briefly about another upcoming cost increase to the HVAC project.
“The Tariff dilemma going on in America has increased the cost of the HVAC project; that will no affect the budget amendment tonight and that will come out of equity at a later date, I just wanted you to be aware,” Chairman Miller said.
Board members also approved the Director of Schools Evaluation Instrument and the adoption of a science textbook. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/09/2025-6AM)
