
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A man hiding behind a bush in the area of Freeman Corner was noticed by La Follette Police Sgt. Dillon Marney while on routine patrol. It was Wednesday at 12:38am when the sergeant turned his cruiser around and drove over to the corner.
When Marney found Kenneth Carroll, Carroll was leaning over the bush, dazed and staring at the ground. The sergeant asked Carroll what he was doing, and he allegedly said he was “chasing bugs.”
Carroll continued looking around the grounds as if he was seeing things that weren’t there, Marney stated in his police report. Marney asked Carroll if he had used any drugs, and Carroll replied “I took meth yesterday about one o’clock.
In his report, the sergeant said Carroll had dilatated pupils and bloodshot eyes. Carroll gave consent for the officer to search him, and Carroll allegedly had a plastic baggie on him with suspected meth in the baggie.
Carroll, 49, homeless, was arrested and charged with schedule II possession, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/22/2026-6AM)
