James Edward Smith, 81, of Williston, Florida

James Edward Smith, 81, of Williston, FL, passed away on November 11, 2025. He worked at General Motors for many years in Georgia, then worked as a machine operator at Furtex in La Follette, TN. He had many hobbies and talents. James was a wonderful artist, and he loved woodworking. He would make beautiful birdhouses as well as gorgeous parrots.

James is survived by his wife, Melody Smith, as well as his daughter, Tammy Craver, and her husband, Bill. He also has two stepchildren, Kevin and Matthew Carroll. James had two half-sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews. His pride and joy were his granddaughter, Payton Martin, and all his great-grandchildren, Carter, Rhett, Ava, and Rhye.

Family will gather at Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday March 21, 2026. Burial will be at the Goins-Sweat Cemetery.
