William Michael Miles, age 71 of La Follette

William Michael Miles, age 71 of La Follette, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 5:36pm at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was born June 30, 1954 to the late Sam and Trula Daniels Miles of Briceville, TN. He graduated from Lake City High School Class of 1972. He liked to play basketball and football with a gang at Briceville and other places. The hunting trips to Maple Grove Labor Day weekend starting at the age of twelve with his dad, other relatives, and friends was always anxiously awaited upon every year even when it rained all weekend. Mike worked as a professional Mountain Coal Truck Driver and Fork Truck operator at Eagle Bend Manufacturing. He was of the Holiness faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Teresa Miles Hammons.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory: wife of 30 years Mary Louise Miles; son, Mike Miles of Knoxville; brother, Mark Miles and wife Melissa of Rocky Top; grandson, Daxton Miles; and granddaughter, Megan Miles; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 12-2pm with the funeral service to follow at 2pm. Graveside services will follow the funeral at the Oak Grove Cemetery. www.leachfamilyfuneralhome.com
