Joie Irene Owens, age 73, of LaFollette passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband: Ralph Owens, parents: Rev. Johnny Lee Byrd and Mabel Lee Branam Byrd, grandson: Austin Moses, niece: Vanessa Powers

Daughters: Christy Bowlin, Kimberly and Dusten Powers

Sons: David and Deborah Owens, Scott and Ramona Owens

Grandchildren: Autumn Owens, Whitney Bowlin, Devan, Katie and Bryson Powers, Kendra and Dalton Moses, Josh Owens, Ashley Douglas

Great-grandchildren: Avery, Hunter, Paisley, Remmingtin, Izabell, Taylor, Emily, Blakley, Brooklyn, Johnathon, Blakley, Josiah, Gracelynn, Adlee, Allison, Madison and Bryson

Brothers: Johnny Warren Byrd and wife Jan, Jerry Byrd

Sisters: Alice Faye Marlow, Wanda Sue England and husband Dewayne,

Carolyn Gail Jones and husband Sammy, Kathy Karaus and husband Tom, Regina Powers

Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 Noon Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with service to follow in Cross-Smith Chapel at 12 Noon, Rev. Cotton Pitman and Rev. Allen Shepherd officiating.

Interment following service at Owens Cemetery in Morley.
