Ernest D. Wilson, age 94, of Jacksboro entered into his heavenly home on Wednesday December 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 9, 1931, in Jacksboro to the late Estel and Hannah (Boshears) Wilson. Ernest was a member of Cumberland View Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, square dancing, working in his garden, raccoon hunting and telling tall tales. Ernest loved being with his family.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Claude and Carl Wilson, his sisters Wanda Kitts, Maxine Albertini and Thelma Daugherty.

Ernest is survived by the mother of his children Janice Wilson of Clinton; his son Mike Wilson of Jacksboro; his daughters Linda Unger and husband Mark Paradies of Knoxville, Brenda Day and husband Glenn of Jacksboro, Rhonda Ross and Michael Phillips of Jacksboro; his brothers George Wilson of Spring City and Lendon Wilson and wife Susie of Jacksboro; his sisters Fleda Adkins of Jacksboro, Pat Hembree and husband Lawrence of Jacksboro, Peggy Hungerford of Missouri; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Ernest will be on Sunday December 21, 2025, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Kenny Allen officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
