LeForce sues Jellico; asking for restraining order to stop property sale

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- A Jellico citizen has sued the Town of Jellico. Cecil LeForce is alleging the town violated the open meetings act as it is planning to sell a piece of property at a reduced price.

The property, located at 1070 Creekmore Housley Drive, Jellico, has been offered to Traxion Materials for $625,000, according to the lawsuit filed last week. During a recent Jellico Mayor and Alderman meeting, it was disclosed the company had been communicating with board members outside the meetings about the possible transaction thus violating the Tennessee Open Meetings Act, the filing said.
