LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- With election season in full swing, candidates are doing everything they can to earn your vote. On Thursday night, some candidates took time out of their busy schedules to be with a great crowd as the Ball Farm Event Center played host to the Campbell County Children Center’s “Meet the Candidates Dinner and Auction”.
This year’s event supported the Campbell County Children’s Center that for 25 years has supported hope, healing and justice for children. This year’s event featured great food, warm fellowship, and live and silent auctions that supported the Center.

The candidates were allowed a couple of minutes of time to share with the audience about what they plan to do or would like to continue doing. Candidates also brought some desserts that were auctioned off after each candidate.

Along the way, a delicious dinner catered by Richard Ridge BBQ kept attendees coming back for more as the food made for a wonderful part of this year’s event. Three door prizes were given away at this year’s dinner and auction which included a Dunkin basket filled with goodies. The event was capped off with a live auction conducted by veteran auctioneer Billy Ball that featured 10 different items ranging from a kayak to a truck load of gravel.

This year’s Meet the Candidates Dinner and Auction was a big success for everyone involved as it was not only a fun time, but it was also an opportunity for everyone to get to know the candidates who are running in the upcoming August 6 election. And now that this year’s event has come and gone, it is now on to the elections coming up in August and WLAF will be there for all of the coverage. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/24/2026-6AM)
