William “Bill” David Blackwell, age 81 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 21, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1943 to the late Rev. Earl and Arlena Ramsey Blackwell.  Bill loved to play music and spend time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Blackwell and Louie Blackwell; sisters, Mabel Gibson and Marie Ijames.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Blackwell; son, James Blackwell; daughter, Rebecca Blackwell; grandchildren, Sydney Blackwell, Shawn Chester, and Steven Tyler Chester; great-grandchildren, Isabella Chester and Brooklyn Chester; brothers, Joe Blackwell and wife Edna, and Robert Blackwell; sisters, Ruby Bratcher and husband Jerry, and Mary Boshears; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jackie Bunch and Rev. Kenneth Bunch officiating.  The family will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at 10:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment.
