Before, after and during the first winter storm, TDOT crews were extra busy

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Mark Nagi Regional Communications Officer for Region 1 details just how much brine, calcium chloride and salt were used by TDOT crews during the winter storm.

Beginning on Wednesday, January 8 through 11:59pm on Sunday, January 12, TDOT crews in Region 1 (24 East Tennessee counties, including Campbell) have gone through the following in terms of supplies while working on interstates and state route

268,616 gallons of brine

55,457 gallons of calcium chloride

17,054 tons of salt
