‘We are proud to partner with Pets for Patriots’- Patricia Siwinski, Campbell Animal Shelter

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Friends of Campbell County, TN Animals (FCCA) does business as the Campbell County Animal Shelter and has partnered with Pets for Patriots. Pets for Patriots is a program that supports the adoption of the most overlooked shelter animals so these animals can be adopted by veterans. It’s a partnership that is unleashing hopeTM for veterans, military families and shelter animals here in Campbell County.
This partnership aligns with FCCA values to improve the lives of companion animals throughout Campbell County, according to Patricia Siwinski, Shelter Director of FCCA. The partnership enhances the timely adoption of Campbell shelter animals.
Pets for Patriots recognizes FCCA and Campbell County Animal Shelter’s shared passion for giving the nation’s veterans renewed purpose through companion pet adoption.

By joining forces with Pets for Patriots, the Campbell County Animal Shelter waives adoption fees to veterans who adopt program eligible dogs and cats through its partnership with Pets for Patriots.
“We are proud to be partnering in this national program with Pets for Patriots and to be supporting the men and women who have served our great country†said Siwinski.
This program is a win/win; a win for military veterans who desire to have a dog or cat companion and a win for shelter dogs and cats that struggle to get adopted and desire to find their forever home, according to Siwinski.

Animals eligible for adoption through Pets for Patriots include dogs and cats that are adult, special needs or long-term homeless, as well as larger breed dogs. The program is open to veterans from World War II to those in active duty.
“We help shelters inspire the adoption of the more overlooked animals in their care,†says Beth Zimmerman, Pets for Patriots executive director. “At the same time, veterans find a new sense of purpose through the unconditional love of a shelter pet who has been given a second, maybe even a third, chance at life.â€
Veterans must first apply to Pets for Patriots online and provide relevant eligibility documents. Approval typically takes no more than two business days. That’s after veterans connect here or visit the Campbell County, TN Animal Shelter on Towe String Road to find their new best friends.
