LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- As a female victim, slashed with a knife, continues recovering from her wounds, law enforcement’s intensive manhunt remains in high gear. “The suspect, Alejandro Mancera Canchola, is considered a very dangerous man,” said La Follette Police Lieutenant Matthew Forsyth. The lieutenant confirmed Canchola is wanted out of Mexico.

The woman, said to be Canchola’s girlfriend, has been communicating with law enforcement, according to Forsyth. An apparent domestic situation escalated on the morning of Tuesday, December 17, at the couple’s home at 412 South Avenue. That’s when police say Canchola allegedly attacked the woman.

Two weeks ago this afternoon, La Follette Police Officer Zach Daugherty and other officers executed a search warrant at the home where a woman was attacked with a knife earlier on the morning of Dec. 17.

“We have an arrest warrant in hand for Canchola as we vigorously attempt to locate him. We have a whole lot of man power on the hunt including agents with the U.S. Marshall’s Service,” said Forsyth.

Alejandro Mancera Canchola was last seen driving a white 2008 Toyota Corolla with Tennessee license plate 084 BNWN, according to La Follette Police Captain Charles Duff.
