LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- After Thanksgiving comes a series of “special days.” Black Friday.  Small business Saturday.  Cyber Monday.  And, since 2012, Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea:  a day to encourage people to do good.  This event has sparked international attention, and charities of all different sizes now use the day to spark support and donations to their cause.

Now, a local charity is using the day as an opportunity to gain traction for their project.  A few weeks ago, a group of volunteers announced that a Boys & Girls Club would be coming to Campbell County.  The Club will occupy the Dewey Hunter Center, and support roughly 75 kids initially, with plans for future expansion.
