JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Open Arms Ministry Food Pantry of Campbell County needs help to fill its empty food boxes and feed local people. The increase in living costs has more Campbell Countians than ever reaching out to the pantry for help.
The pantry is serving 1,800 – 2,000 plus people per month. Many of these are elderly living on fixed incomes and families in need, according to Open Arms Ministry Food Pantry volunteers.
“We realize that most people are struggling in one way or the other. Most of us know somebody that comes to our food pantry for help. If you would like to make a non-perishable food donation or if you decide a food donation just isn’t right for you, consider making a monetary donation. We put your dollars to excellent use by purchasing food.†said Open Arms volunteer Terri Phillips.

Open Arms Ministry is on McGhee Lane near the National Guard Armory at Jacksboro.
All donations, food and monetary stay completely in the county. Monetary donations make the biggest impact since the pantry has the nonprofit status and the ability to purchase food in bulk, which buys more for the dollar.Â
The pantry is operated by a complete staff of volunteers with no payroll. All donations are tax deductible. Volunteers suggested area churches, businesses or individuals might want to do food drives to benefit the pantry.
Food can be dropped off Monday and Tuesday from 8am – 3pm, in the carport area at facility on 1112 McGhee Lane, Jacksboro. Your monetary donations may be sent to Open Arms, P. O. Box 433, Caryville, Tennessee 37714.
