CSX officials expect the train derailment to be cleared by early week

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Railroad services companies, mainly RJ Corman, converged around Saturday’s derailed train site working a two mile stretch of train and track from the West Central Avenue crossing to the Ivydale trestle.

WLAF’s Charlie Hutson, who was in the neighborhood when several cars of a 102 car train left the track, spent the balance of the day shooting photos from high and low. HERE is C-Hut’s early day snapshots gallery.

Here are some of the late Saturday afternoon-evening photos.

West Central Ave. west bound is down to one lane as R.J. Corman Railroad Services unloads its equipment.
Once the equipment was off loaded and in place, specialists started to set the cars back on the track.

This was the first of the six cars that derailed at the crossing after being reset on the track and now moving on down the track.

This was the second car being reset on the tracks, problem being there was no track at the rear of this car, so the crane carried it to the start of the track.

Started to up right is the third car. At this point, a part of the crossing has been cleared.
