JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Jeff Coller has welcomed a new attorney into his practice.
Travis Dorman began working with Coller in March after he graduated from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law. Before law school, Dorman worked as a journalist at the Knoxville News Sentinel.
“Law is a natural extension of the work I was doing as a journalist,” he said.

Starting at the Knoxville News Sentinel as an intern, Dorman worked his way into a full- time position. After entering law school in Aug. 2020, Dorman continued in a part-time position until Aug. 2021.
While at the Knoxville News Sentinel he covered crime, courts, breaking news and law enforcement.
Being a journalist means being an observer, but Dorman wanted more. “I wanted to the person who was fixing them (situations,)” he said.
In Feb. 2020, Dorman witnessed an execution. For him, it was a moment to take pause about his career and it “reinforced some thoughts” he was having about his career.
Originally from Tullahoma, Dorman came to East Tennessee to attend the University of Tennessee. After several years in the area, he knew it was where he wanted to stay but advancing his career could mean leaving the area.
Law school seemed like his next step.
He is “still telling stories” just in a different way.
“Everybody deserves to have their story told,” he said. “People are more than the worst thing they have ever done.”
Dorman can be reached at 865-281-1000. The office is located on Main Street in Jacksboro across from the courthouse.
