JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The new Lonas Young RV Park Manager Lisa Chesney was introduced by County Mayor Jack Lynch during Monday’s Commission Workshop. “Chesney is a Campbell County native, who has moved back home. She’s our new RV Park Manager,” Mayor Lynch said.

Chesney is from Jacksboro and is a 1982 graduate of Campbell County High School. She recently moved back home after living in Wisconsin for three years.

She gave a quick update to commissioners about the park and how close it was to being open for business. Chesney reported the Bonfire reservation website system was up and running and that the hope was to do a test run on the system and at the park and have it “up and running by next week.” According to Chesney, they were “shooting for opening by Memorial Day Weekend.”

Commissioner Rusty Orick asked if it could be opened by this weekend? Chesney said she would know more after a test run on the reservation system and other areas of the park was performed. “We just need to make sure the website is ready to go and get it all cleaned up,” Chesney responded.

Her job duties will be outlined in an official job description, which will be approved at next week’s commission meeting. The job description will outline all her duties as park manager, as well as the chain of command.

The building and grounds committee will also meet soon to make plans to install a building for her to use at the park and a recreation committee meeting will be held regarding the purchase of a golf cart or gator vehicle for her to use.

Chesney said she was excited to be starting the position and happy to be in Campbell County.

Her first official day on the job was May 6. Previously, for the past couple of years, she had been living in Wisconsin, but said it was wonderful to be back in her hometown.

“I’m so excited about the park opening. It’s going to be a great thing for locals and for people traveling into the community,” Chesney said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/14/2024-6AM)
