CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- The investigation into the recent deaths at the Campbell County Jail is continuing.
In both cases, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation left the jail with an abundance of paperwork, Sherriff Wayne Barton said at the time of the deaths.
On April 19, Gary Wayne Burris, 47, died in custody. He had been experiencing intestinal problems in the hours leading up to his death, Barton said. CLICK HERE to read more.
On April 29, Faith Nicole Evans, 26, was found dead in her cell. She was the only person in the cell. CLICK HERE to read more.
The investigations remain active and ongoing, according to TBI spokesperson Leslie Earheart.
Investigators are still awaiting autopsy results in both cases, Eighth Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler said.
