JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Daniel Sebby has pled not guilty for his part in a 2022 traffic accident that claimed the life of an expectant mother.
Sebby appeared in criminal court Monday where Darrin Mitchell was appointed to act as his attorney. A $50 fee was imposed on Sebby for Mitchell’s services.
Facing a $300,000 bond for the charges stemming from the accident, Sebby also has an outstanding DUI with a $3,000 bond. Prosecutors asked Eighth Judicial Criminal Court Judge Zach Walden to increase the lower bail.
“This is somewhat academic,” Walden said. “He just affirmed his indigency.”
Walden asked Sebby if he had the means to pay the bail. He said he did not. Prosecutors then asked for a hearing to occur prior to Sebby’s release if he was able to raise bail money.
In May 2022, Sebby was the alleged driver of an SUV that went backwards over the concrete barrier at the LaFollette Medical Center. His passenger, Tabatha Boring, 37, was ejected from the vehicle. She died from injuries but her infant daughter survived following an emergency C- Section. Boring was around seven months pregnant at the time of the accident. CLICK HERE to read a related story.

Sebby’s next court date is Aug. 21.
