HERE is a story from the day WATE-TV 6 News Anchor Lori Tucker visited, Derrick.

One Sunday night in 2014 at his church, Calvary Worship Center, a lady told Derrick that he had a great voice and that he needed to go to WLAF and be on the air.  That next morning, he was at WLAF at 8am, was welcomed aboard and has been here ever since.

Aside from his outstanding on air abilities, he is very creative with writing and producing commercials and promos.  Derrick also writes news stories and features for WLAF.

Derrick’s friendly face is often seen as he represents WLAF at public events like the annual Chamber of Commerce gatherings and Children’s Center fundraisers. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/24/2024-6AM)
