JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A 42-year- old male Campbell County Jail inmate has apparently survived a second attempted suicide, according to officials.

Twice on Sunday, 11:21am and 8:52pm, the inmate attempted to hang himself, based on dispatch call records to Campbell County EMS.

As a result from the first attempt, he was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital. On Sunday night, the initial call was listed as suicide. However, the inmate was still alive and was transported by the Campbell County EMS to the La Follette Medical Center. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/04/2023-6AM)

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Late Sunday morning, an inmate in the Campbell County Jail allegedly attempted to hang himself, according to an official.

“A male inmate tried to hang himself, and his cellmate “cut” him down immediately,” the official said.

The man was described as unresponsive but still breathing, was airlifted just after noon from the Caryville ballfield by a medical helicopter. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/03/2023-12:05PM)
