Jack Ray Neal age 85 of Speedwell TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2023. He attended Braden’s Chapel Baptist Church and was the former owner and operator of Blue Springs Boat Dock for over 16 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting both deer and rabbits. He enjoyed field trailing Beagles and he loved showing Bantam Chickens for which he won the World Championship in 2000. He was also a huge UK fan who truly engaged the rivalry which existed between himself and some local UT fans. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Nancy Tipton Neal; brother, Donnie Neal; father and mother-in-law, Garfield and Gustava Short.

He is survived by his wife Stella Ruth Short Neal; daughter, Stella Christine and husband Matt Aubrey; sons, Jackie Lee and wife Amy Neal, Brent Sheldon Neal M.D.; grandchildren, Andrew Neal, Jacob Geise, Jason Neal, Greg Geise, and Grant Neal; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Geise, and Weston Geise; sister, Doris Code; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 7:00PM Tuesday December 5, 2023 in the chapel of Cross-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trevor Bean Officiating. Music will be provided by Vic Graves. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM before the service. The family will have a private graveside and interment service on Wednesday December 6, 2023 at the Neal Family Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
