LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Friday night’s opening of the ‘The Letterbox: Please Forward’ was sold out as was Saturday night’s performance. Sunday’s matinee was also a success. The production still has three performances this week.

The cast and crew have worked for months to produce the play.

The Letter Box: Please Forward  represents stories from the community based on letters that came through Postmark LaFollette’s building when it was the LaFollette Post Office during its opening days in the late 1930s through WWII.  It also includes stories, not always known throughout the community, of happenings that took place behind the scenes.  It is written in vignette format based on fact and handed down stories by several Postmark volunteers. Actual letters that passed through the post office as well as documented events like the troop train wreck and the Soldiers Box were used to bring these memories to life.

Tickets are still available for the Nov. 17, 18 and 19 shows.

Tickets can be purchased at the Postmark LaFollette Artist’s Co-Op during business hours on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm  as well as on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. Tickets are also available for sale online at www.postmarklafollette.weebly.com
