JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Tuesday was “bittersweet” for Sharon Ayers at her retirement celebration at United Cumberland Bank in Jacksboro. 

After 45 years in the banking industry, Tuesday was her last day on the job. 

“It’s bittersweet, because I’m excited to be retiring, but I hate leaving my customers and co-workers; I’m going to miss them a lot,” Ayers said.

Over the years, many of her longtime customers became dear friends. 

“The people,” is what she enjoyed most about her career. 

Community members stopped by off and on all day on Tuesday to wish her a happy retirement. Her family also stopped by for the celebration.
