JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Town of Jacksboro Police Department has new officers. At Tuesday afternoon’s meeting, the board voted to hire Billy Lowe and Casey Geisler as full time police officers. The board also approved the hiring of Daniel Smith as police chief and promoting Franklin Ayers to assistant police chief.

Three resignations were accepted beginning with Vice Mayor Jerri Starrett and Aldermen Brian Osborn, the final resignation accepted was from police officer Jordan Huskey. The board voted for Gene Stephens to be vice mayor. Greg Cross was appointed to fill one of the vacant seats, the other seat was not filled.

Shane Seidner was hired as full time firemen effective Oct. 1.

Resolution No. 366 was approved. The resolution covers ARPA funds for the Caryville-Jacksboro Utilities Commission. Funds will be used for projects at the Caryville-Jacksboro Utilities Commission. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/13/2022-6AM)
